Cryptic Tweet From Minecraft Developer Hints At 1.18 Update Coming Soon In October, Minecraft developer Mojang announced that the second part of their huge Caves and Cliffs update would be out in "a month or two". It appears that it's getting close to time, since Mikael "slicedlime" Hedberg, the technical lead for Minecraft Java Edition, just tweeted out something a little obscure: It might not be much, but Mojang employees are known for using Twitter to tease new features - or accidentally doing so, at the very least the language in the tweet, specifically "pre-paring", hints at a pre-release for Caves and Cliffs Part 2. Pre-releases usually occur only a few weeks or days before the official release of the update and serve as a bridge between "snapshots" which are the testing ground for new features players can choose to use and the final update, which should be as close to completion as is. The first pre-release for 1.17 which was the last update, was on May 27, and the full update went live on June 8th. What is this implying? We hope that it means that we won't have long to wait for the 1.18 update that will bring a brand new world generation to your Minecraft worlds. It could even arrive before November ends! Minecraft Servers Mojang also announced during this year's Minecraft Live presentation that the Deep Dark biome and its new mob, The Warden, would be pushed back to 2022's update, The Wild. Minecraft Servers Are you ready to go through the update? Have you tried the snapshots? Let us know what you think in the comments!
